Los Angeles, CA - Newly formed U.S. based Paso Prime Beef Cycling Team finished 2nd place in Stage 2 of the Tobago International Cycling Classic held in Tobago on September 28 - October 2, 2011.
Cuban Jose Navarro of Team Coco won the 117-kilometre four-lap event for Division One riders. Cyclists began at Les Coteau and travelled along the Claude Noel Highway, before turning left at Signal Hill and heading back to the starting point. The Dominican Republic's Raphael Maran and winner of this year's Newsday Republic Day Cycle Classic was third.
"We were given a last minute opportunity to title sponsor the team through my friend Sean Tucker, former team owner of the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team and decided to move forward with it since we knew our grass fed beef would provide extra strength to our riders in the race," said Guido Campellone of Paso Prime Beef.
Next stop for the Paso Prime Beef Cycling Team is the Tour of Guyana, a multi-day stage race in the Republic of Guyana, in South America.
